Fellow VCU student, Summer Khalil, is doing a project on Muslim Women and fashion. She sent us the following description about her project: “Our project on Muslim Woman and fashion will be a documentary film about young Muslim women that attend and teach at VCU, and how their religion incorporates within their dress. A center focus of the documentary will be excerpts from the Quran that deal with how women should dress and behave in public. These young women will be questioned about their interpretation of their religion and these various excerpts. The documentary will also focus on different aspects of Muslim dress, like the Hijab and the Burqa and why certain women at VCU choose to wear it or not.  In addition to these women at VCU, We are looking For Female and Male participants that are willing to participate in the making of the documentary. The project due date is April 24 2012. If members are in interested please respond with you name, and contact information. We appreciate your time and cant wait to hear for you!” If anyone wants to help her, please contact her at (khalils3@vcu.edu)
